# Memory Protect & Setup Routine

Follow these precise steps on your physical hardware unit to bypass memory protection and allow SysEx backup operations:

The Prophet-600 (both stock and GliGli-modded) requires memory protect to be disabled before receiving SysEx.

  1. Locate the MEMORY PROTECT switch on the front panel (often near the preset/keypad section).
  2. Flick the switch to the OFF position.
  3. If you are using the GliGli firmware, press the TUNE button and use the keypad to ensure MIDI SysEx RX is enabled according to the GliGli manual.

Your Prophet-600 is now ready to receive presets.
